Default Horns

Our local spring gunshow also has a contest for deer, elk, moose racks with some great prizes. I always look forward to seeing the mounts that show up. all I had was a cell camera but you still get a good idea of the critters that are running around in Idaho.

Cheers
Patrick

Saw this guy this fall at a high fence deer ranch in Mich. The person who was going to be "lucky" enough to shoot it was going to pay $35,000 for the privilege. They estimated that it would score between 375 and 400. Picture was taken through a spotting scope with a cell phone at 100 yds.

John, the photography technique using a digital camera and a spotting scope is called digiscoping. The techniques were fathered by an amazing bird photographer named Lawrence Poh. He and those who have followed have done some amazing work in bird identification and verification.

The last few years have seen cell phones equipped with very high quality cameras and now many are using cell phones in lieu of digital cameras for their digiscoping hobby.

35K to shoot a deer in a fenced in area Just goes to show ya some people have way more money than good sense. It's akin to mounting a 20 inch Brookie you caught in a stocked pond.

Turn him out, let him go through one rut, then see if you can bag him, probably be easy since he has been in a fence all his life, sort of like keeping a dog on a chain which I hate to see! Gary
