Default Ithaca NID 410 Grade 1, nice find, I think?

Ithaca NID 410 Grade 1, nice find, I think ?
I been told only 64 Grade 1’s were ever made ?
Circa 1926, still all original. It does have a center bead and has been on there for a long time. It’s very aged. Not sure if it original or not ?
May be a collector gun ? All original, no sign of any restoration.
I like the Grade 1 engraving better than the 2 or 3, any comments?
Reminds me a little of the LC Ideal Grade engraving ?
Standard double trigger extractor gun. Choke 4&4 26” tubes, very nice trigger pulls, I’d say 3-1/2 & 4.
Called Ithaca and the said there are no more records available.
Anyone know where to find any records on them besides manufacturing date ?
Who in the country is and expert on the Ithaca NID’s?
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers JoeB

Very nice looking gun, and I agree about the engraving. I assume you have Snyder's book. He's the best authority I know of for Ithaca double shotguns.

The Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody, WY I believe has all of the known Ithaca records. Walt sent them what he had.

It’s high time they were. The BB Museum has had the records for over three years according to Walt.

The records should have been sent to Bob Beach.

Bob Beach did a superb job at G&H as their in house historian. He told me late
last year he was retiring. That’s a nice Grade 1 NID 410 indicator gun. It’s, more then likely, a pre-1930 gun. I collected small bore NID’s for many years and this one, from the limited views, appears to be excellent and original.

Walt Snyder posts on the doublegun forum and might be able to provide you with a little more info on your NID.

Either Walt Snyder or Brian Hunt of Fire Tower Doubles as Reggie suggested. Both are very nice gentlemen and they are very approachable. If it were me I would start with Brian, I only say that as Walt is trying to enjoy what they have deemed the Golden Years and he has turned the records over to Cody as I believe Dean alluded to. Really nice gun BTW.
