I may cut it to 12.5 to lower the pressure and I don't need 1200 fps anyway and besides, I’m not shooting an auto-loader.

Dean - I use a similar recipe to Pa SxS in old style AAs. 13.2 grains gives me 1200 fps, and 14 grains gets me to 1300 fps. I like the 1300 fps for 5 Stand and Sporting Clays with #8 shot. I load the 13.2 with #9 shot for skeet. I tried Trap with the #8 1300 load, but that didn't work too well. Billy

Billy, your 1300 loads are outrunning the targets. When I shot competitive International Skeet, I loaded legal 7/8 ounce (24 gram) loads at just under or over 1200 FPS when other shooters were shooting 1300 FPS plus loads and suffering from the recoil. By the way, I shot International Skeet Olympic Tryout shoots at your club and enjoyed the atmosphere very much.

Fairfax R&G is one of the three nicest if not the nicest club I ever shot registered skeet or trap birds . When Willie Finch , Bob Myers , George Swenson and Norbert Schnipple were there I had a blast . Now I think out of that group Bob’s the only one still hanging in there !

Yup, Bob is the only one left. He may still be here when we're gone! Bob and Willie always seemed to shoot on their own squads, but I have been squadded with George and Norb several times over the years.
