Default PICTURES from the 2013 Fall Southern SxS at Backwoods

Well, it takes me a while to sort through over 300 pictures that I took while at Backwoods last weekend for the Fall Southern. Here is a sample of the pictures from the event. I'll post a link to my site where all of the pictures can be seen, but this is a good sample.

This was my second year attending the Fall Southern, and just as I suspected it was a great time, and great shooting. Rick Hemingway's place is first class, and the courses were challenging but fun. In my opinion, the event grew a bit this year, with more vendors and a good turnout of shooters. If I have one regret, it's that I didn't shoot more of the available Preliminary events on Friday. I could go on and on about the great time we had, but I'll let the pictures do the talking....

David Dwyer and I shot the Friday Preliminary in 12ga Hammer and 16ga Hammer/Hammerless

Great pictures Mike!

Yup, there sure were a lot more vendors there this year. I think the weather predictions kept most of them away last year.

It's good to see everybody having such a great time - sorry I missed it.

Thanks, Mike. That was the greatest group of shooting pictures and pictures of Parker people I have ever seen. I have not seen the course since Rick spent $600,000.00 in improvements, but a friend who shoots AA and Master back and forth in NSCA said the U.S. Open course was the best he has ever seen. He has seen them all. What we should like about Rick's vendor tent is that there is so much room around it that your car or truck is always just outside your area. There is no problem with space at Back Woods.

Mike Ditto on the great photos, did you shoot the hammer gun? I wish I could have made it but prior engagements in Bangor Maine, made it a no do. I have stopped in Mass and will attend the Vintigers, hopefully next year I can make the the fall southern. Will you be at the Vintigers? I have a gun you may be interested in. Gary

Thanks guys, I'm glad everyone enjoyed the pictures.

Bill, I think the money was well spent at Rick's. It's one of my favorite places to shoot. The parking situation is a good one, I just hope it's a little more crowded next year.

Gary, I did shoot both of my hammer guns at Backwoods, the one that I got from you, and a new one that I picked up in July. I actually shot really well in the 12ga Hammer Gun Prelim event on Friday. I will be at the Vintagers this weekend, ready to shoot some more. Jim Hall and I have actually decided to ride together and hope to be there sometime on Thursday afternoon. I look forward to catching up with you, and can't wait to see what you've brought with you!

Mike
