I’m always surprised to see so many “original”‘condition guns when I have visited his site. Especially 98% or better M21’s. It almost like most of the people who bought M21’s never shot them.

This Parker previously discussed sold by Cabela's 08/2018. The link to the previous listing on Guns International still works.

I have held this gun, and noticed the Meriden Grip cap. While the gun is quite obviously an Ilion gun, originality of the cap is certain. This is not an unusual thing.
As it happens, I have an Ilion grip cap. I wonder if the future owner would give me five hundred for it?

These are lovely guns, but you have to wonder about a Meriden grip cap on a gun that has never been outdoors. After 60 years of studying and buying these guns, I don't trust myself to identify an original mint gun if I am paying a $30,000 premium for originality. I am much more comfortable with a high eighties gun for $30,000 less. At least the American old car guys are getting more comfortable with refinished product.

Have a look at the grip cap on the subject gun in this thread.

I am quite confident the cap on Tony's gun is original.
