Default 25 miles from Syracuse

No ducks today very poor season so far but at least I have a pretty Lefever to look at and Nellie to keep my company. Hunting about 25 miles from where the gun was made. Lefever D12ga

So, what do you do to keep Nellie from getting too bored on a slow day? Or is she bird-focused so much she doesn't know what time it is? My dogs start to point rabbits when birds are few and far between.

I have a D grade two barrel set, but in nowhere the nice condition of yours. They are fine guns, for sure.

Nellie is all business. She loves to hunt more than me if that's possible. When I break down my boat blind she barks at me like I'm not ready to go in. At 5 years old she understands the game.

Very nice Craig. What is a shame is the state of this state given the history of shotguns here. I'm missing a lot I'm sure but here goes:

Ithaca
LeFever
Hunter arms
Parker in Ilion
Remington in Ilion
Kimber
LC Smith
Turnbull
Dudley ; )

We seem to have a strong local population of woodies and mallards this year.

Default Daniel Lefever

I was born in Syracuse and raised in East Syracuse.

Daniel Lefever is buried there in Syracuse at Woodlawn Cemetery (Section 32, Plot 96). Same cemetery as my parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents.

Another historical gunmaker buried there is A.O. Zischang of target rifle fame. He and his family are in a mausoleum not far from Lefever. When Sharps folded, he moved to Syracuse and set up a shop there.
