Default L.C. Smith, Charles Daly & Purdey info needed

Hey Folks-
I'm in need of a little help... I've come into possession of a dear friends collection which includes a few sxs's that I'd like to get some additional insight on and I'm hopeful that some of our PGCA members who are knowledgeable of these makers would be interested in telling me what they can if I provide details and pictures.

1. L.C. Smith Field Grade - SN 97385 - 12 ga - Beaver Tail Forend - SST

2. Charles Daly - SN 1244 - 10 ga - Diamond Quality - Witten Excelsior Steel Barrels - Made in Prussia

3. J. Purdey & Sons - SN 13661 - 12 ga - Sir Joseph Witworth's Fluid Pressed Steel Barrels

I obviously do not expect any one person to have insight on all of these so if interested in receiving more info an sharing what you can please let me know and I'll individually send via email. Or, if there is more interest here I'm happy to do a thread for each for all to contribute and follow.

Lastly, I have already ordered a letter from Purdey and will do the same for the L.C. from their Association.

Let me know if you are interested in helping out...

Is the Purdey a hammerless gun or a hammer gun?
