Default Ducks verses Parker

Took the dogs out quail hunting but it was pretty tough scenting conditions. Our luck changed when we spotted a half dozen big ducks sitting on a pothole. Luckily we had some 3” steel in the truck. We were able to sneak up and move quickly over the berm. They took to wing and We doubled up on the same bird, and I dropped a second.
The dogs were used to retrieve them from the water. What a nice surprise to find that both were Drakes and Mexican Black ducks.
Used my Parker reproduction 20 gauge. I am glad the Reproductions have 3” chambers.

Good reason to have some bismuth shells in the truck.

I'm jealous on the Mexican Ducks, they're on my short list. I've shot all the mallard variants in the USA except them.

Jeff you are right. A guy always needs to carry some non tox shells just in case.
Destroy it seems like the last few years more and more Black ducks are coming into Southern AZ
No guarantees but if you ever want to try and shoot one let me know.

Duck shooting in AZ can be extremely good !,to think that I came all the way from a big old rock out on the north Atlantic and had incredible pot hole shooting on ducks is almost hard to believe....what's harder to believe is that I did it with an Lc Smith!
