Hello all;

Have just inherited a Parker Trojan 12 ga. Made in 1922.

My father inherited it from his uncle. I shot it once when I was about 10 at a block shoot at the local club. First time shooting a 12 and nearly nocked me on my can! Had the whole room laughing. That was 40+ years ago and I don't think it has been shot since.

Look forward to learning more about the gun and meeting some of you at local shoots or PGCA events.

Steve

Welcome to the PGCA! I don't know the circumstances of your inheritance but I congratulate you on receiving this family heirloom Parker. The Trojan was the lowest grade Parker shotgun but was made well and has a beauty in it's own right. You should get years of service from it and if taken care of it will be good for a few more generations.
We would love to see pics of your gun!

Thank you David.

I remember when my father received the gun. It was shortly after that we (father, brother and I) shot the gun at the club's shoot. I don't remember my father ever hunting or shooting it after that. It just sat in his closet all these years. My father passed away in January, so I have inherited several guns and lots of tools and woodworking equipment. My son and I just flew to PA, filled a rental truck and drove it home to Atlanta. Having unloaded and stuffed the basement, I have now had the chance to take a closer look at the Parker and wish to find out more about it. I just posted close up photos of the flats and lug. As soon as I have a chance to pose the gun to take better pictures I will post those.

Welcome to the PGCA Stephen. Sorry to hear about your. Glad to have another Parker enthusiast on board. I have a 12 gauge Trojan as well but I don't have that family provenance that you do. Do you know if your great uncle was the original owner of the gun?

Mike, At this time I don't know if he was the original owner. Possible if he bought it when he was young, but could be a bit of a stretch timewise. I never even thought of the lineage before now, need to research the family tree. There is another Parker in the family, I need to research that line to see what they know.

Keep up posted. You never know what you might find. Also, did you know the PGCA may have records about your gun?
