Charlie they haven't broken up yet. There are three long beards running together with nary a hen in sight. I think we are still a couple of weeks away from things starting to really happen. Going to get real cold again this weekend and that has slowed mother nature down.

On my way to a local gun show Saturday morning in a roadside meadow were 10 hens and a good longbeard in full strut.

Dean, that's a bad ratio for calling that Gobbler off of all those hens, unless those 10 hens look like the girl I used to date (but didn't marry) a long long time ago.

My first ever long beard was with a harem of 16 hens. Read about it in Parker Pages, Autumn 2004.

I'm gonna use my NID Ithaca 16 again this year. Been seeing lots of birds this year. Can't hardly wait!

Todd...I use Fiocchi copperplated Golden Pheasant loads 2&3/4 with 6 shot

That should roll him. Those are good loads. Those NID were tank like and can shoot just about anything. I'm guessing its choked full/mod which seems like the norm.
