Have been turkey hunting with an outtfitter in the flint hills for several years. The last couple of years he has been saying that the quail really coming back. So this year when deer season is over, I am headed out to hunt with one of his guides that has GSP's. I have no need of a pointing dog in Mississippi.

Harold,

You need to get the WIHA maps from KS DOW. They will be available in September. You can call the DOW and they'll send them to you or you can pick up the maps at Walmart in KS. The KS upland bird forecast also comes out in September. This will provide a little better idea of the birds by region and counties. Take it with a grain of salt, but it is the DOW forecast.

Areas around Hill City get hit pretty good and bird numbers were low in the area last year.

Ken

I do well around there...My good friend lives in Logan. Jan can be interesting, shirt sleeves or blizzard conditions. Last year we saw two rattlers on the grasslands in Jan.
