Crow counts up 29%.......(-:
The news from Kansas is crow counts were up this spring. If all goes well should be a great season. We head there 2nd week of the season for 6 days of wild bird hunting. Love Kansas.....SXS Ohio

I lived for about 2 years (1971-73) in Shawnee Mission, Kansas . The three things I remember most vividly about my time there were: 1) 23 cents a gallon gas, 2) the fabulous quail hunting just north in Adair, Iowa (scene of the first daylight train robbery in the US thanks to Frank & Jesse and the boys), and the incredibly large pheasants just west and north of Adair in the endless cornfields around Littlefield. On our SD pheasant hunting trip a few years ago it was a big shock to see the giant power windmills marching over the landscape like feeding shorebirds in a meadow.

I plan to be in sunflower state almost every week of the season. The crowing count is very upbeat. Hopefully, the birds will do well over the next 4.5 months.

I am planning on making a trip to NW Kansas in January, around Hill City. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have a friend who hunts this area and seems to do well on both quail and pheasant. I know the weather in Jan. can be a big factor
