This is the gun in question. I've never seen a ramp like this.

Todd, The frame is correct for a vent rib gun. But the rib itself looks to have been repaired

Yes, apparently some work done to it. Hef confirmed on another thread that it came, as equipped.
Any recommendations on a gunsmith to repair the rib, and replace some screws?

Depending on the cost of the gun and the additional cost of making it right you might be better off to keep looking. A vent rib 12 isn't that hard to find.

Todd; I just returned from looking at a VHE trap gun that has the same issues as yours only the screws are missing and the rear stud is loose among other issues. If you have a picture of the stock on yours would you please post it. Thanks. Gerald

I wasn't particularly looking for a project, but this gun kinda clicked with me. I had a similar era VHE that was upgraded to an A1 Special by Runge and Delgreco.
The gun had a certain feel to it, and I shot it very well. If I do something with this gun, it would be to get it back on track mechanically, and maybe restock it.

Well, first step. Barrel soundness? Check. Barrels look good, are clean and bright. Chokes are 30k left, 37k right. Yep. A left barrel first gun. Coincidence that my other 1 1/2 frame Trap gun was a left barrel first gun, as well. Patterns are what you would expect, considering the tight chokes. Nothing will survive inside that pattern!
I'm thinking pigeon gun.
Next step will be to replace some screws. Any suggestions there would be appreciated.
