I would just shoot it until the barrels start pointing the wrong way.

The forend also has an issue that would need to be repaired. I have enough projects on my hands currently that need dealing with. I think I can live with him taking it to the gun show this weekend.

400 dollars is mighty cheap for a shooting parker...i wish he lived close to me i would buy that parker....charlie

Isn't it kind of unsafe to shoot a parker that the ribs are coming apart on?

Went back out tonight after work. Took another set of good barrels with me. His barrels do not ring and I can actually see the top and bottom ribs moving in the middle of the barrels when I push on them about halfway from breech to the bore.

So loose rib established, question remains is it safe to shoot barrels with a loose rib?

It’s probably safe to shoot but the situation will worsen as a resul of the continued pounding from the concussion of doing so.

Yeah I would eventually fix it if I decide to get it, I was just surprised at the idea.
