Default Doubling

My 12g Parker Reproduction is doubling every time I pull the trigger. Anyone have any tips or suggestions to repair this? It only happens with live shells (low pressure RSTs). It does not double with snap caps. It's a single trigger configuration and doesn't care if right or left barrel is selected, still doubles.
Thx in advance for any thoughts or advice.

Dewey Vicknair repaired my gun. It did not double every time, but, after the third time, I sent it to Dewey. He said there was a cast piece that was not fitted properly. He stoned the working surfaces of the part and eliminated the doubling. After repairing the trigger, he fired a box of cartridges and did everything imaginable to get the gun to 'double', but was unsuccessful. He also added, my gun was clean and dry inside, not all goobered up with congealed factory lubricants.

Gary, How long have you owned the gun and how long ago did it start doubling?

Was it gradual or did it start doubling immediately every time you shot it?

I've owned the gun about four years. I bought it second hand had the same problem on the clays range the first time I shot it. I returned it to the dealer and thought it was fixed. I did shoot about ten or twelve test shots without a problem after the repair but I recently took it pheasant hunting and had the doubling problem on the first and subsequent flushes. Glad I brought my 1903 backup "Elsie"on the hunt. BTW had a great hunt except for the doubling!

Gary,

How familiar are you to shooting single trigger SxS's ? I've had several friends over the years complain about doubling issues. Every time they fired the gun it would double, then when I would shoot it I couldn't get it to double.

I'm not saying this is the problem, but you might want to have someone else shoot the gun to confirm the doubling issue. With that said: This is one of the most common issues with single trigger SxS's, along with them only shooting one barrel & the trigger not switching to the second one.

If you need a gunsmith. Make sure you send it to someone who knows single triggers. A smith not familiar with them can do more harm than good.

I am very familiar and comfortable with SST and have shot them almost exclusively over the years. My 16g Parker Reproduction is a SST and displays no issues.
Can anyone provide contact info on a reputable gunsmith familiar with Parker Reproduction single triggers?
Thx to all.
