I am awaiting an original as I write. It will be used as a pattern, so it will be the actual shape, and size as the original. I had not planned to make from brass, but I can have one made for you from the same pattern from brass if you would like.
I welcome input as to what the best material should be. I had planned to use the Jewelery grade sterling silver. Possibly nickel silver?
If there is interest by members to have some made for you, please let me know. I plan on only having a few made for myself as well as for a few others that have expressed interest.
I may have been a little optimistic on the first ovals I had made.

Original material for shields would be brass.

I had always thought about getting sheet brass and cutting out new ones with a crawlers saw. But I never seem to run out of original ones to use/sell.

Phil,

I will take two of your new silver ovals. I will get a check coming soon.

Brian I'll send out 2 shields today. Mr Carlos Diaz has a great shop and does quality work at a fair price. He will also engrave name or initials in the style you wish on the shields for an additional $20.00.

In my opinion, engraving anything in a shield or oval before installation is a complete waste since the piece would need to be worked some once set into the wood for proper installation and would thus compromise the engraving. Engraving should be done after final install and finishing in stock.

I meant Jewelers saw Edgar.
