Default Restored Damascus Barrels

I just got this gun back from Brad Bachelder today, and I think he did a great job refinishing these barrels. The gun had strong case colors but the barrels showed none of the Damascus pattern. Let me know what you think now.Parker #47xxx 032.JPG

The barrels look good and really contribute to the appearance of the gun.

What Dean said. Nice condition on the receiver, can you show us some pics of the wood?

I like how the pattern really comes out, but it is not too glossy. Looks like it has just been well cared for.

Hi,
How does one restore Damascus Barrels? I apologize if this has been discussed before but a cursory scan of the posts didn't show up any instructions.
Regards

i do not believe the process has been discussed here- just the examples done by the pros

the best information source is Dr Gaddy's DGJ articles
i think they are in
Double Gun Journal Vol 8, Issues 2 and 3, 1997 and Vol 14, Issue 1, 2003

This thread shows a member's first attempt at refinish. At the end of the thread is a link to Tom Flanigan's black and white refinish tutorial.

As Rick notes Oscar Gaddy's articles on the subject are also excellent.
