Charlie, the weather finally let us get to Iowa for quail. The snow was deep and crusted, and we found no quail. However, we had some nice turkey points and I could have taken two or three from over points. We literally had to kick them out to make them flush. I wish we could shoot turkeys over dogs here. Kansas allows it. I'm guessing your season is over?

That's the kind of afternoon that keeps you coming back to the woods. The more time you spend the more you see. Sounds like a good place to be in a couple months when spring turkey season comes in.

Thanks, SRH

I have had a good season with some very memorable hunts, but it has slowed down of late. Hoping to get my bird dog on quail one more time before the season ends.
