Since this is a 1931 Western calendar, I would guess that this is a prototype Winchester 21 with a snap off forend. "Never seen such a thing." you say? I have a prototype 21 with snap off forend in cutaway persuasion. Check out the long blue receiver and the relaxed pistol grip, featured on early 21s. John Olin was CEO of Western Cartridge at that time and fond of the 21.

Stuck at home, truck is in the shop. Thought you might enjoy these decanters found at flea markets. Would be nice to add a quail and pheasant.

Stan, all four of our Setters "snuffle" my hunting pouch. As soon as I grab my lanyard with counter dials and whistle they know something is up!! When I grab the coat they are on it like white on rice and won't settle down until they are in the field.

Stan, they are all old whiskey decanters from the 60s and 70s. The bird ones are marked A Singer 1969 Field Birds, and .May have been Jim Beam. The setter was an Ezra Brooks decanter

Right, I think the field bird decanters predate the RGS and the AWS.

I have the woodcock decanter and I know both Harold and Brett have the grouse one. I only wish I had the grouse one to complete the set of two that have meaning to me.
