Default Woodcock are coming down

Woodcocks are on the way down in upstate new york ,had a good day yesterday. Woodcock and a 20ga VH ,thats Heaven.

good news

local woodcock were scarce this year, hopefully the flights don't take the express south during the upcoming week.

Great photo, James. It never ceases to amaze me how perfectly camoflaged the woodcock's plumage truly is. Having moved from New England to Idaho 25 years ago, the two game species I miss are woodcock and gray squirrels.

I do not think the heavy rain will effect the doodles mutch....they may even like it, wet soggy earth and worms will be everywere.
