Could very well be, John - shuffling all of these records and correspondence have produced some significant transpositions in the past. Personally, I wouldn't care much in a 100-number variance if I could have that little GH .410 in my gun safe!

I have number 242122, on my lap right now. 65 numbers from the end of the line.
This is the sweet little two barrel set DHE 20, "Doctor's Gun" that I wrote about in the Parker Pages last year.

Default Stripped reciever

I have in my possesion receiver number 242393 a GH, number 0 frame by its measurements. I have not gotten a research letter yet, but the serial number check list says its available hard is that is to believe. Probably impossible to find all the origional parts, plus some wank sanded all the engraving off, if in fact it was ever engraved.

The PGCA most probably only has the Remington IBM card on that serial number. It would give gauge, if it had ejectors, grip style (maybe) forend type (again maybe) and barrel length (if it was ever fitted with barrels) and possibly where the gun was sent (if it was).

Most IBM cards have minimal information.

Was that action purchased on ebay maybe 2 years ago?

At one time I owned a new in box, cased, 28 gauge VHE that may have been the last gun madeprior to the War Dept shutting down civilian gun production. The serial was 242103 produced in April, 1942 if my memory is correct. In my files I have a letter from Remington to their dealers and distributors telling of the required production shutdown. I gave the PGCA a copy of that letter when Ron Kirby was involved.

Brian, the time line is about right but it was purchased from the Parker Club sale section from a member, as I recall or it may have been advertised here first and then bought on Ebay, one followed the other, just not sure which now. The member was from Westchester NY. Are you familiar with this receiver?
Thanks, Gary

Gary, by the “Parker Club sale section” do you mean the PGCA members only for sale page?

I’m not trying to be a smart a$$ but I would like to know if there is another Parker Club where we can buy Parker’s and parts.
