Default Fall Southern Side by Side

In addition to all the usual events (prelim's, 410 hammer/ hammerless to 10 ga hammer/ hammerless), there will be a flurry event (both single man and two man team), trap event, compak, black powder, LC Smith/ Parker Challenge and Hammergun challenge.

This event continues to grow each year and gets better and better.
Thanks to Mills Morrison and John Liles for posting the rules for the challenge events.

Hope all who would like to be there can make it.

John
The flurry should be a "hoot". A new bird in the air every two seconds from one of three computer controlled machines! It is 100 birds for one man and 200 birds for a two man team. I can not wait to see Dr Truit perform on this

I got this today from Bob Nay, President of the Carolina Vintagers:

"I just spoke with Rick Hemingway at Backwoods Quail and he said the shoot is definitely on! I also spoke with the Hampton Inn.

Here are the highlights:

The roads are open but the bridge south of Backwoods is temporarily closed requiring only a 10-minute detour to get back and forth from Georgetown.

The bridge did not wash out and may, in fact, be open by the time of the shoot.

Access to Pawley's Island is unimpeded and all the restaurants there are open.

Some but not all of the restaurants in Georgetown on the water have been damaged but others are open.

The Hampton Inn is in full operation

So, let's go down there next week and have a great time. I wonder who will win the team flurry event

Hammers back,

Bob"

So in case anyone was worried, we're still on in Geogetown later this month. Y'all come on! ----Matt

Thanks for the kind words John. It is the attendees that make the event though, so, like Matt says, come on down

I will call Lauren in the am and get directions with changes as needed.

It is my understanding that no changes for us coming from the north.

95s to 38 (just south of Dillon), 38/ 501 to 41, 378 to 41/51 thru Johnsonville and Hemingway then left onto 51 (Browns Ferry) at Backwoods.

I think there are some changes for those traveling up from the southern states and areas south of backwoods and changes from Backwoods to Georgetown.

Spoke to a friend who lives down there today.

The route I normally travel from the North is open a usual.

95 S just south of Dillon, take 38 to 501, 501 to 41A, 378 across the great pee dee, turn left onto 41/51 thru Johnsonville, thru Hemingway to back woods.

See yall there.

All my best. Travel safely.

If you care to down some seafood as well as clays on Saturday, here's an option in Murrell's Inlet:
