Default Southern Woodcock

No parkers involved but wanted to share the hunt I just back from.Took off to Louisiana for some woodcock.Heard about the numbers there this time of year and had to try.
Well its no lie the woodcock are there in great numbers.Several days we had 30 plus points.Who knows how many you would have found(or the dogs)if you hunted all day.Luckily we were shooting well which is always nice but left you wanting more with day light left.
As stated no prkers but we did take sxs's.I was shooting a 28ga Kassner and my friend had his Dickonson 20ga.
Lots of birds 3 out of 4 days. The off day rained the night before and that morning which made it hard to locate them.

I was surprised at the number of birds.I heard there were alot there but it is such a huge area the numbers must be staggering. To be able to take a limit in a few hours.Talk about picking your shots.

Did you have to worry about snakes there this time of year? looks like it could get warm if the sun was out? SXS ohio

No snakes to worry about temps were about perfect.Below 40 most days but creeped up one day.Made it feel like hunting season.
As for the Dickinson's, note I made it plural. He loves them and since he got the 20ga he bought the 410 as soon as they were available.
I show some more tomorrow we also shot a few ducks while we were there.
