Default Wilderness

In wilderness is our own preservation.

It has been our great honor and privilege to hunt wild prairie grouse.

I encourage others to take part in initiatives of Pheasants Forever and its partner the North American Grouse Partnership in preserving wild lands.

These lands are not funded just by hunters. They are funded by hunters through fish and wildlife fees, bird watcher organizations, wildlife organizations, tree huggers, anti drilling and anti strip mining organizations, government agencies, ranchers and farmers, green environmentalists and all sorts of folks who have similiar interests and dissimilar interests. Thats why we need to understand each other's hot points and work together.

This picture confirms what someone the other day said about the fact we're all getting long in the tooth! But we're enjoying the hell out of life also! And that's all that matters. Nice photos BD

C'mon BD, share the address with the rest of us! How about a PGCA Western Bird Hunt Conclave!

Guys, you have to be able to walk 10 miles a day, dogs have to be able to do 20 or more in tough terrain, grouse are where you find them as usual, and some days you find birds, other days you don't. And its halfway across the country.

I'm not sure many of you younger guys could do it

No hunting lodge, not preserve birds. No tweedy coats, no gun bearers, no fine wines unless we bring them.

Plus several years ago, I posted a photo of several of us taking a break mid day and one of the fellows from the east responded back that we were "crimsom clad rustic rubes cavorting on lineoleum". While clever, the message was clear. But if you really want, pm me.
