I remember well the first time I met Daisy. I knocked on the door of Rich's cabin and when I opened the door, Daisy jumped up and her nose was against mine, looking me directly in the eye. She was a good hunter and we took a few grouse and woodcock over her and Betty that day. I did not realize that she was in bad shape, other than just old age. I have grave concerns over whether Betty will be around for next season and think I will go out to the garage and pet her for a while. I think we should have a toast to old dogs and old friends when next we meet.
