Default This morning's view

Yesterday there were 9 birds, including a Tom at 70 yards whose beard was dragging. Today, just 4 hens.

Still in all, it's great to be out!

Yeah, the flock of birds is easier to carry to the blind... all except for the spurs part.

i too like your blind...very neat area...you needed a 4 inch chambered 8 ga with full choke for that big bird...charlie

Right in front of that corner in the stone wall is a lush grassy patch (the only one in the whole field) that attracted most of the birds. Alas, the gobbler didn't seem to want to "come hither".... so much for live decoys!

That's a 16 ga with some warmish #6's. I'm good to about 35 yards, which is the distance to the short wall in the sunny spot.

If you had that blind down South there'd be a rattle-headed copper moccasin (most feared snake of all) on those warm rock right about now.
