Default No Way to Begin a Turkey Season

I remember the old commercial for a butter substitute that cautioned "It's not nice to fool Mother Nature!" I didn't purposefully do anything to fool her, but she sure did let us know who was in charge here in North Missouri. Turkey season begins on Monday. Temperatures are forecast to be in the 50s by Sunday, but after about 10" of heavy, wet snow, I may be sitting in slush to open the season. In the 40 years I've Spring turkey hunted here in Missouri, I've sat in snow for two openers. Monday may be my third.
