There’s probably nothing wrong at all with gun. The seller is motivated to sell. Someone could by themselves a nice Christmas present.

The length of pull makes me think it was converted to a SST from DT.

No pictures show that it is not a Miller trigger, in which case the LOP would be an honest 14" in original double trigger configuration. Where are the pictures of the serial number? It is probably an honest $3000 gun. A Remington or DelGrego case color job. No problem at the asking price.

I tried to post this earlier, but it is not here so I will try again. Maybe it ended up on another thread.

I called today about this gun as I was curious. I spoke to John, very professional. Here is what I learned and may save you a call:

30" barrels not a matching number. Many dents and bores .742 both sides.

26" barrels numbered to the gun, .010 and .015.

Both sets ejector and reblued.

Stock has been cut, and a replacement Parker butt plate added, but chip in toe of butt plate. Not quality work.

Parker single trigger. Floor plate has two screws, one screw with a locking screw. According to The Parker Story, two screws indicate the later improved single trigger. This gun is too old to have had the new Parker trigger installed at the factory when assembled, so I guess it was added later.

Wood refinished, obviously recased with cyanide colors.

I am always looking to move up and was interested but when I found details I passed. It is a consignment thus the "make an offer." I wrote this from memory from earlier today while driving during the conversation, so I hope I have all of the details. My memory is good on some days.

According to The Parker Story Volume I, pg. 142 the Parker trigger could be ordered in either the forward position or in the rear where the back trigger would normally be found, buyer's choice. Thus with 13 1/2 lop to the back trigger position probably not much was cut off the gun (probably one quarter of an inch) as it would be about 14" to where the front trigger would normally be as Bill noted and I mentioned previously. I imagine the gun had a pad at one time since the stock appears flat at the butt plate, and could be fixed with a nice pad.

Not a real two barrel set, unfortunately. Non matching numbers is not the problem. Poor bores and .742 are the problems.
