Default W. Tx Strutters

I had another great spring turkey hunt out in W. Tx during opening weekend. Two mature strutters met their fait from the NH 10 ga. burning RST #5's.

what a nice bird and gun, tell us more about the gun.
Bill Janelle and i just got in from scouting for turkeys for NH opener on Sunday the 3rd. Should be good for us and bad for tom.

The NH is No. 78459, 3 frame, 32" plain twist Damascus bbls, choked F/F, w/ original Hawkins pad. The original owner had it refinished over 20 years ago.

What a neat gun! Would love to chase gobblers with a piece like that.

Awesome. Texas sure has a lotta turkey's. For years I was out there until our outfitter lost his place. We were in Rock Springs, TX

Thanks for all of the comments!

Tom, we do have a lot of turkeys in Texas but only in places where there is a decent amount of water or rainfall. When conditions are dry as in drought years, the turkeys are tough to find especially in W. Texas. I have been hunting this same ranch in Mertzon (30 mi NW of San Angelo) for the past 18 years and have only had 2 years without bagging a couple of spring toms.
