I am still getting it at the magazine rack at a local supermarket as well-

even though the DGJ web site states

"Beginning with the Winter 2010 issue, the Double Gun Journal will no longer be available in Bookstores.
Due to the overwhelming internet activity we have decided to concentrate our focus on direct and internet sales only.
Thank you, Daniel & Joanna Côté Publisher"

Default DGJ

Hi Dale, I receive my DGJ well packaged in cardboard and a plastic envelope. The postal depart of any country would have to exert a consentrated effort (which some are capable of) to inflict any damage to the magazine. Yours would probably be shipped the same way. Cheers, Tom

Dale I agree with Tom in that the DGJ is very well packaged and should arrive in good condition.

My winter issue just arrived a few days ago. It seems there is less content that is of interest to me as I ponder over the renewal.

Default Double Guns Journal

My DGJ has always arrived unharmed. The problem is that in quite a few instances my DGJ arrives so late the next issue is being sent out . This year my renewal will come due and I have yet to receive the last magazine. Im sorry to beat a drum to death but it bothers me to pay for a product and not receive it.

I pay extra for priority delivery and it gets here in a day or two of mailing--weeks before many others receive it. DGJ offers this if you want to pay extra for it. To me it's worth it. It's about $30 extra a year, but solves all delivery issues.

I can't imagine anyone not renewing their subscription to the Double Gun & SS Journal. The mere fact that it is frustrating that it might arrive late, to me, is not reason enough. Name one other magazine dedicated to the old guns we so admire that even comes close to the content and quality of the DGJ. Why punish Daniel and Johanna for something that they have no control over?

I couldn't agree more. DGJ is a labor of love and it will never be duplicated again. It's a one of a kind masterpiece that deserves every gun lovers support. I doubt they are getting rich with their endeavor! Please--EVERYONE subscribe!!!

I'll make it easy for all of you. Buy my full set for $1000, slipcases and indexes included. Pull one out every month, starting at the beginning. No late deliveries and all new information for many of us. This stuff has no expiration date. The twenty year old issues are full of pertinent information.

Default DGJ

The thread was merely a question to see if anyone else was experiencing the same problem, not to criticize the magazine. DGJ is a outstanding magazine that I enjoy very much. I never stated that I am not going to renew. I have had a subscription for many years to include index and slipcase so I well imagine I will continue. Check in the mail. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season.
