is there any way to make a old damascus or twist barrels look better with out refinishing them...just wondering mine dont have much of a finish left on them... charlie

Charlie:
It's hard to know exactly what kind of "better" you are looking for, but you might try getting a bottle of Mark Lee browning solution from Brownells, degreasing your barrels, and giving them a few coats. They will get darker/contrasty, but still look "old" if you're careful. If you've never done this before, best to do some research on technique first however.

thanks mark...i will read up on this teqnique if i can find it...i have only rust blued a few guns.. is there much differance in the procedure...i would just like to get rid of the silver finish on my old ten parker...i guess shes about gone as white as you could get a gun... charlie
