Default Grip Cap Size

Is grip cap size determined by frame size, or the desired width of the grip? I've measured the few that I have and there seems to be some variation. I'm working on a restock of a #2 frame and was wondering what the correct size would be. Galazan has several offerings in different sizes. Thanks

Default

They vary based on butt number, not frame size. An 0 framed 16 would have a number 1 butt, and an 0 frame 20 would have an 0 butt.
If the gun you're working on has a Number 2 frame, it most likely is a 2 Butt, and therefore the largest of the 3 caps.
