I LOOKED ON THE RECIVER FOR THE GRADE WITH THE GUN APART AND THERE IS NOTHING THAT SAYS WHAT GRADE IT IS-ONE SIDE IS SER. NUM. AND THE OTHER SAYS PARKER BROS. ECT AND THE PAT. DATES AND NUMBERS-IS THERE ANOTHER PLACE TO LOOK?

Look on the leftside of the "watertable"- the flat portion of the action visible when the barrel is removed.

If the grade is not stamped on the water table, you could post pictures of the gun and we would tell you what your grade is. The "book" says your gun is a 34" barrel gun. The barrel is likely to be Titanic Steel, identified by a T on the bottom of the barrel flat. It is also likely to be a C Grade.

It's likely to be Acme steel on an SC...

SCs in the serial number range mentioned that I have examined, including my own, are Titanic Steel. I don't know whether Acme Steel was used on early guns, but I haven't seen one.

You are probably right Bill, one of the 5 SCs I've had was an early one with the access screw and it had 34" Acme barrels...

Bill and Don ....My first SC serial 180115 was a 32" straight grip gun with the access hole. It had Titanic barrels.

Also I checked the Serialization book last night and there were guns listed in the the 158,s. Does this make any sense? Seems way early to me too.

THIS GUN IS NOT ACME STEEL-AT LEAST NOT MARKED-I DID SOME GUNBROKER ADDS THE OTHER DAY AND MY WIFE MOVED DIG. CAMRA AS SOON AS I FIND I WILL POST PICTURES-BARREL HAS MATCHING SER. NUMBER AND THE FOLLOWING STAMPINGS-IF BARREL IS UP SIDE DOWN AND POINTED LEFT ABOVE THE PEICE THAT CONNECTS IT WITH THE RECIVER IS A G IN A CIRCLE-ON THE PEICE THAT CONNECTS IT TO RECIVER IS A SMALL K NEXT TO IT A BIGGER SINGLE STAR-THE NUMBER 12 ON THE RIGHT OF THIS PART-ON THE BOTTOM IT HAS FROM LEFT TO RIGHT-T HT ABOVE THE POINT OF AN A THEN A 3 WITH A 7 HALF WAY ABOVE AND TO THE RIGHT. THE FOREND LUG WELDED TO THE BARREL HAS AN X ON IT.THE TOP OF BARREL HAS THE PARKER BROTHERS LOGO ON REAR CENTER OF RIB-BY THE WAY WHAT IS THE WATER TABLE?
