Yeah, the barrels are not the only issue with the gun from an originality and correct finish standpoint. I would also be in the “leave it be and save your money” camp. But if you really want to see that trist pattern, then have at it.

Not a bad looking shooter. I would save my money and leave it as is.

Incidentally, it doesn’t have Damascus barrels as you reported, it haw Twist barrels as indicated on the top rib.

Save your money on a restoration of your gun, join here for $40 so you can see honest guns for sale, and be quick on the draw to purchase the gun you desire. Then you will have two.
