Default Lowcountry Turkey

Following up on my Parker Pages story, we had our local club cook up the turkey for Father's Day and we celebrated Friday night. It was very good.

Here are some before and after pics

WOW! That's class from start to finish... especially the finish!

A very nice job Mills. And it's especially nice to see the whole family enjoying it like it should be.

Great story and great pics Mills. I really like the idea your club had to fix dinner for the Dad's.

Mills! I spy a glass of sweet tea where there should be bourbon. I'm proud of you. Looks like a great hunt and a delicious feast.

I am ready when you are.

What you all need to do is get the Van Winkle distillery up and running with a reliable supply.

Julian Van Winkle has his bourbon made at Buffalo Trace. There is nothing that comes out of that Frankfort, Kentucky distillery that I would throw rocks at. His grandfather did the formula for Weller, a wheated bourbon, from which Pappy comes. If you can find Col. E.H. Taylor, Jr. Single Barrel, Stag Jr. or Rock Hills Farm buy as much as your purse can afford. You will not be disappointed. When I can find any of those mentioned I buy as much as they have. Weller 12 year old special reserve and Elmer T. Lee are on my list as well. Ancient Weller has a nice taste as too. All I can afford at the moment is Ancient Age. I would drink Buffalo Trace, but it's just out of my price range.
