Sorry, I don't have a link for "injectors," but I have seen it on several occasions. Lightheartedly, some of these are just spelling errors. But others are clearly "misunderstandings."

My favorite to date is "not safe for black powder."

My pet peeve is "Damascus" barrels when they are really twist. I keep an eye out for decent Grade 2 hammer guns. My new thing is to tell them to send my a picture of the rib where it says Damascus or Twist.

“Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.” -- George Carlin

It's crass, and not gently stated. But the thrust of the point is true. Consider that one standard deviation in either direction on the IQ histogram puts you at 85 or 115. On the left side, then, that means >34% of the population is somewhere between dead center average, and barely functional as an adult.

What is a barely functional adult? Well, the U.S. Army has used IQ for almost 100 years as a basic metric for bucketing people. They found that at 84 a person was skewing toward being of 'negative use' to the Army. Meaning, the 15-16% of people beneath the 85 score threshold are essentially not worth the Army's training time...for anything.
One can only guess that would include even simple job functions like driving the water truck, mopping floors, painting lines on the ground, doing laundry, etc.

And of course, by inference, then, there are clearly gobs of people who are only JUST above that threshold in small degrees. So, considering the size of the Army, it's clearly a sound proxy for our broader society, for which similar conclusions can be drawn.

So...gun sellers are also a decent sample group.

Food for thought, as you eat lunch. *S*

The seller of my 4 frame 10 gauge went to great lengths to bash it and say what a wall hanger it was. His loss, my gain.

Yet I have seen numerous PGCA Research Letters where the wording was taken directly from the original Parker Bros. ledgers to describe the barrels as "Damascus" when in fact, the barrels are actually Bernard Steel, Laminated Steel, and Twist Steel on guns I have examined. Of course the vast majority of guns described in the books as having Damascus barrels actually do have Damascus Steel barrels.

I have not seen any of those. I have a GH with a half pistol grip (that looks original) where the letter says "capped pistol grip."

I recently bought a PHE 20 bore from Bob’s. The header of the Gun’s International listing stated VHE. I paid too much for it but I needed a 20 bore PHE and this one was in decent shape. You don’t see them all that often and I had to have it. I bought it about two weeks ago and it is still listed on Guns International.
