Default Hammer spring trouble

Can anyone help me with a hammer spring for a Belgium double? I assume I will have to get one made.

Thank you.

Brian

Abe Chaber in CT is a German trained gunsmith who specializes in making springs. Dave Trevallion has used him for decades.

Abe Chaber can make the spring. But... for a Belgian gun, it might be cost effective/worthwhile to have that one laser welded back together.
Try Tony South at 269-268-2760

I never thought of that, would it be weak or cause a problem in the temper of the steel! Has anyone gone the weld path before with luck?

This gun is a fantastic and I have owned it for years, 20 gauge hammer gun with 32” barrels…..

I've had more than a few springs laser welded with great success. Your's is broken at the least stressful point; the bend. Weld, cleanup and install yourself. Probably cost you $20.

I have used Tony in the past for repairs, great advice! Thanks Jim for calling out Dave.

True that Jim. I had a hammer spring break on my Belgian Jos. Manton 20 ga hammer gun with 30" barrels. Dave fixed it for me. The hammer broke one day while shooting at what would have been my limit(5) on grouse. I finished out the day and my limit using the left barrel only.
