Default Does shortening a shell increase pressure?

It's kind of a stupid question. Here's a recipe I can do as I have the stuff, but want to do it with my gajillion 2 1/2" 16g RST hulls I have in a tub:

Cheddite 2 3/4"
Win 209
7/8oz shot
16g Unique
Fold crimp
SG16 wad
As tested by Armbrust 1158fps and 6866psi

If I simply use a 2 1/2" hull instead does anything change substantially or will it not fit? I'm just waiting on the press to get here any day then I can load a boat load of these.

I use this same load except with 15 gr. of Unigue in my 2 1/2 in. 16 gauge RST's. Never had a issue with them, and they crimp well.

Thank you Austin. Now if FEDEX would just deliver the darn press already.

MEC 600JR, Randy. I have one of those and a Grabber for 12g (got that dirt cheap from a friend). Also 600JR for 28 and 20g. I never knew hulls and wads could take over a basement. Wife ain't happy but a happy Andy is a productive Andy I keep telling her.

I figured as much. I was hoping you had secretly solved the single stage 2 1/2" quandary and had some progressive version.

I wish. I researched it and figured the time I spend trying to figure it out would be better spent watching some Champions League soccer and loading shells. I can do about 3-4 boxes an hour and besides I think I get better consistency. I still like doing it, unlike fly tying which I can't stand anymore.

You need to spend your productive hours working on 20's and 28's for your pretty little daughter

You need to let her shoot some at the Rock Mountain shoot in late july this year .

I am doing that too Craig and thanks for thinking of her! I have to get her past her flinch, which is an issue. The PLAN is to get her to John's place for a bird hunt on a warmer day. After she saw Raisin point a few pheasants she said, "Dad, I think I'm ready to do that but I'm still not taking guts out." She will be shooting at Rock Mountain when it warms up some. She walked with me last year and did a few shots. If she continues to be interested I'm going to get her some real instruction. It's just better that way.

Tell her no need to fool with the guts !

Just tear the skin on the breast open peel it back and fillet the two breasts off the breast cartalig and youre done !

Also takes up worlds less space in the freezer
