I don't know what he's thinking. A little more cushion wad and it would be where it should be. What does he think he's crimping it for ? Just the rounded lip ? He wouldn't have to glue anything if he'd do it right. U tube can be a wonderful thing if people would just think first.

Too right on the depth of the overshot card below the crimp. That's what the various thicknesses of cards were made for "back in the day", to get the load situated in the right place WRT to the case mouth.

Well, my friends first attempt wasn't to successful. He wrinkled the end. I'm not a metallic reloader, but ask if he used a lube - no. Now he reloads a lot of pistol and rifle shells so I thought he knew better. Ah, maybe next week when he comes to shotgun he'll have tried it again with lube on the case.

I believe that's the press he used, or a cast iron Lee.

Paul give him a can of Imperial Die sizing wax. Brass troubles go away with little bit of lube .
