Default Thanksgiving Feast

It's Thanksgiving Day and the middle of our deer gun season, I'm quite sure the turkeys and deer are happy, happy, happy and thankful to be feasting on corn and apples rather than being feasted upon.

I've seen it a dozen times Charlie. It's not too hard to stalk up pretty close to a deer but when there are turkeys in the mix it is about impossible.

If it were me I'd be feasting on fresh venison vs turkey. 7 days into rifle season and I haven't seen a shootable buck, lots of small ones but nothing decent. 7 different rifles have been to the blind and I have seen some amazing things one wouldn't otherwise witness. Yesterday I had a fox and a bobcat walk within 15 feet of me no more than 5 min apart.

About 4:10pm this afternoon a 10-pointer showed up to feed with his harem. About 5 minutes later a bigger 10-pointer arrived looking for a fight. They are still jousting as I'm posting this. Sorry about the light conditions -- as Yogi Berra might say "It gets late early out here."

Lead us not into temptation. Those deer don't bother me but I love the taste of wild turkey.
