Default Need Advice on Latch Spring Problem

DHE 20 fore end latch spring is "passing" the lever during operation. My sense in looking at the parts is the latch lever or the latch spring are worn and is allowing the spring to "pass". Is this as simple as finding a new spring or does the latch lever need work as well? Any help appreciated.

Spring is shown with side which contacts lever

It looks like the latch may need to be built back up and reshaped to really correct the issue. It looks pretty chewed up. The end of the spring is cut at an angle which is not quite right. Or maybe a little bit broke off.

I got your PM inquiring about a spring. I will see what I have and let you know.

Thanks Brian. A newer spring from another gun worked if I pushed it in pretty snug. But I agree with you the latch is messed up. It is worn in a U shape. Thanks.
