Does anyone ever partner (syndicate) a gun purchase such as this?

You know, 10 guys each throwing 10-12k in the pot and then holding the gun for resale in (say) 10 years. In the meantime, display it in a museum (in the name of PGCA) and generate some cool PR for the cause.

Maybe more than twenty guys, each owning some history for a couple grand. Just a thought.

As a guy without the ability to lay out big $$, I think that is a heck of an idea. I would participate. I like the idea of a museum piece, promoting PGCA and of course the huge return in a decade, should we still be on the planet. I'm sure it would do much better than any long term investments I have (Bloody long term, as they haven't even recovered my initial input. Not sure what long term is but after almost 8 years, I was hoping) Oh well, hunting season is not that far off any longer. I will console my self with short term fun.

I'm not sure about the value or the price. Depending on the stock dimensions, this gun may be one of Frank's guns, not Annies. Annie's guns are very easy to identify by stock dimensions. Her dimensions were uncommon to unique. The list of Oakley-Butler guns in The Parker Story is a pretty long list. It isn't like this is Annies original 16 gauge. Now that would be a $100,000 gun, but I don't know about the auction gun. Why haven't we seen a PGCA letter on this gun?

Well, the TPS says it's Frank's gun, probably because of the order book or stock book entry for stock dimensions. Even though it is, or is supposed to be, Frank's gun, it sold for $143,000 according to another poster's links. Maybe our researcher will post the pertinent information on this gun so we can develop our own opinions. I'm sure that the new owner will still order his own PGCA letter. Frank and Annie owned and ordered a bunch of Parkers over the years. I wonder if this one is very, very, special, or are they all worth the big bucks.
