Default VH is back from Freer Gun Shop

Well Mr. Freer in Houston had told me it would take 3 months, but it being the slow part of the year, they got it back to me in 6 weeks.

It is really amazing the difference going from a belgium style bluing to the Parker rust blued look.

Only issue I am having is finger prints are far more visible now then they used to be. The doves won't recognize this gun this fall.

Anyway, highly recommend Freer Gun Shop. They do good work, have some nice guns (He has a nice Henry Rifle for $47k right now), back issues of DGJ and according to the website they are contributors to our fine organization.

All in all Richard seems to be a fine gentleman, and not quite the pain to deal with that Briley can sometimes be.

Thx, I may have been able to live with the previous blind exempt for the splotches that could be seen in the bluing.

Looks like they did a good job. I'm not sure who does Freer's work now but I'm pretty sure they farm it out. Les Freer was the old master.

Not sure. They have a couple of gunsmiths. If they farm it out, it surprise me that they don't restore Damascus. Considering it would be the same as sending a gun out to reblue.
