Default Help with Parker gun ID's

I need help and any info on a parker brothers shotgun i have. its very old. the date stamped on the barrles is Nov. 13, 1866. I do know that is a 'stub twist' barrel gun. Frame size is a 5 i believe and Grade is a 2(?). Not sure of serial number as what i do have i cant get any info on. If any one can help, please feel free to call me personally. (570)418-1090 is my cell phone and its always on.
Thanks,
Kurt Hess

Kurt, please try and give us your serial number I can look it up and tell you how it left Parker. It sounds like you have a large frame 10 ga. or a 8 ga. with that 5 frame. On the barrel flats there should be barrel weight 4 14 , 4lbs. 14oz. Bob

this only has 28" barrels and its either a 8 or 10 ga i do know. Frame size is 5 and grade is maybe 2. The words stub twist is printed right on the barrels. I guess i need more idea's of where to look and what to look for as the gun is not in my possition right now. But i can get pics tommorrow to see if you can help.

If it is a 5 frame it is probably a 10ga but could be a really heavy 12 or a light 8 bore. If it is a grade 2 it should have damascus bbls not stub twist. The number you found may be the order number. Look for a number on the water table of the action, on the forend iron or trigger guard, that will be the serial number. Post some pictures if you can. SN4507 would be a really early lifter and may even be a back action gun

SN14590 is from the other post and it isn't in the book. mfg about 1879, we need pictures...

Good luck,
kurt

Hi Kurt!

First - Howdy and Welcome!

Second - I'm going to move your post to the Main Discussion Forum, OK? It will get a lot more view in that area of the site rather then this forum..

Again - Welcome!
