That gun was a beast. The barrels alone were 12.5 lbs and the gun total was 16 lbs.
Brian,

Was Daryl Middlebrook’s gun a hammer or hammer less gun?

Also, the 40” 8 gauge with Damascus barrels, that would probably not have the matting on the rib or were some Damascus ribs matted?

Thanks,
Stan

Not many or very good pictures of guns they expect five figures for.

I noticed the the odd lengths in all gauges I would like to have some of those lengths to add to my collection...I have some of those 8 ga in 4 inch paper hulls and a few 4 ga leader brand paper hulls...how about those 10 ga and 12 ga 3 1/4 inch....charlie

I wonder if Charlie Green still has his 40" 10 ga. DH shown on page 1027 of Vol. II of The Parker Story?

I've been in awe of that gun since I first saw it in The Parker Story.

Daryl Middlebrook had a 40" GH 8 on display at the Southern years ago. It was raining and some water had accumulated on it. I wiped the water off and figured Daryl wouldn't mind my picking it up and handling it, since I just saved it from rust. It handled well and you would not know it was 40 inches.

Still, I would not trade my 34" 8 gauge and have recently become an afficionado of short barrelled guns

Mills, Daryl would have been more than happy to have you heft it and swing it.

Mills knowing that you have turned the corner and are admiring the short barreled guns coupled with your passion for the 16 bore and the C grades I may have stumbled upon your dream gun. #138835, an Acme barreled CH 16 gauge with 22" barrels BTW I have one of Daryls guns, a 36" DHE 12 ga.
