Default Browning BSS Sidelock in Kansas

Decided to leave the Parker at home this trip and shot the Browning. The weather was splendid, guides and dog work were good, food excellent, and the other hunters in the party a joyful can full of mixed nuts.

I bought a nice new Browning BSS Sidelock in 12 gauge that was 26" IC/M . when I first joined my local gunclub that was my first skeet gun LOL's . I initially bought it for Grouse at the same time I went to Michigan for a setter pup .

Never used the BSS for Grouse however . Bought the thing at Clark Brothers Gunshop in Warrenton VA back when they were in production somewhere around 1985 I think . As well as I remmember it was $1350 at the time . Later I wished I'd gotten a 20 gauge 26" IC/M but such is life .

I might add when I first joined the local club I was shooting skeet with factory 3 dram skeet loads . Mostly to get hulls to start loading anyway those heavy skeet loads were a bit stout on the shoulder with no recoil pad on the gun LOL's !

I bought a Browning BSS Sporter in 20 Gauge Brand new in 1981 ,didn't pull the trigger on any other Double Gun until I got into Parkers early 90's ! Still is as tight as when it was new and I know it has had better than 10,000 rounds through it since new ! Also a bit different from any other I have seen in the fact it has like an oil finish on it and Gorgeous Wood !
