Default Grip Caps

I never thought about this until last week, but how many different size grip caps were there. I am just referring to the ones marked Meriden or Ilion, not the plain ones.
And did they correlate to frame size or just to customer's preference for size of the grip?
Did they carry numbers like the butt plates?

Default

Generally speaking there is two different sized caps. Small used on 0 frame and smaller. And Large used on 1 frame and larger. Typically 3 frame caps are a little bigger than 1 and 2 because the grips were just shaped a little bigger. But the caps were fitted when the stock was made so each one is a little different.

Default Ilion caps

I have seen two Ilion 20 gauge 0 frame guns recently and both had Meriden grip caps.
Did they make Ilion grip caps in the small size?
Does anyone own one or have a picture?
