Gary, what in the world are you doing with a jam-up retriever in the grouse woods!? Great on pickups on driven birds, but can turn into utter chaos in the popple! Can you believe that last month my hunting buddy up in NY State actually took his Australian sheep dog into the grouse woods with us? It was a delightful hunt! - She stayed right with us and didn't bump or bust any birds - in fact we didn't SEE any birds when she was with us. When we were alone we moved 4 and shot one. Maybe she herded the grouse over into Chenango County to preserve and protect them for future hunts.. God I miss my dogs!!!
