Default 28 gauge load

My current load is
Old AA Winchester hulls
AA wads
Chedite primer
Unique powder
2-3/4
3/4 oz lead

I’m just about out of unique powder and unable to get more,
Does anyone have a powder recommendation for the AA Winchester that is currently available.

Bob, I use the old compression formed AA hull as well, pink 28g CB wad, C209 (CX2000) primer, and 14.4gr longshot powder in Briley tubes. Hodgdon lists no C209 loads so I started with the F209A 14.0 published load and increased the powder charge until I got the target breaks that I was looking for. I am also using 16.7gr in my 20g Rem GC loads since I have been unable to get Universal powder which I've used in the 20 and 28 gauges for many years.

Bob -I use 20/28 Powder in similar loads with the CFAA hulls. There are no published loads for this, so I sent them out to Precission Reloading for testing. Billy

I use 20/28 also. It’s pretty readily available.

Well I bought a bunch of components from an estate and had some green dot in it. I found my fathers old reloading manual from the early 1980’s and found this for the old AA 28
3/4 oz shot
Win 209 primer
12.5 gr of Green dot
Win AA wad
1200 fps
1190 psi

Ballistic products has green dot as of right now

There is good load data for HS-6 and CF AA 28 hulls also, have a couple pounds but havent tried it yet. Universal is great if you got it( still have a 4 pounder). I use 20/28 even though there are no published loads with it and old CFAA. I dropped the powder a little and shooting it in modern Ugartechea and Dickinson 28's

I like Universal, however it is hard to find. HS6 works well also.
