Glad you brought this up Charlie. Reminds me that it's just around the corner. Think I will also take a VH 20, 26" with mod/mod chokes. PH 12 as back up. It also is 26" and choked skeet/ IC. Hope it cools off a little here in TN before 9/1.

Well it will probably be cool here in New Hampshire, but unfortunately for us we do not have a dove season Or anywhere in New England that I know of.

Join the group Steve, here in Michigan it's the same thing, I just get to watch them fly to states that they are legal in Matter of fact I have never been dove hunting, it's something on my bucket list to hopefully do someday.

The bird of peace being shot at If I could shoot at them I'd take a 16ga hammer gun of some kind.

I'm thinking grouse guns, the opener is Sept. 15th and I need a few (12 or so) to rotate for the month of October when things really get going and the woodcock join the party.

I consider myself a most lucky dog. A few months ago a very dear friend called and told me about a VHE 28 he knew of in Texas that a widow needed to sell. She had no cell phone and lucky her neighbor helped her pack it up and send so no pictures. Wow when I opened up the box. All original 28" barrels built in 1919 and lettered perfect by Chuck Bishop. Needless to say I will open the Tx dove season with this for white wings I don't care how high up they are!! Backup will be my DHE 20 with 30" barrels. Good luck to all in the field, safe hunting and travels. My Grail is here.

Begining to see doves sitting on the phone wires, they are heading south. They are song birds here in Michigan, but when they cross the border to Ohio they change into gamebirds.

It will be heat stroke weather here in the deep Alabama south. It was last year. I will use either a DH 16 or a CH 12. High fliers so tight chokes.
